BRT Update - August 24, 2017

posted Aug 24, 2017, 7:11 PM by Douglas Ratke
Riverbend will be undergoing some changes along 18th Street in preparation for the BRT.

The following changes should be noted:

1 – The City will be adding a small “bulb out” at this location

2 – The City will be taking out this triangle and putting in a new one that is smaller to add a lane.  As part of this, they will be moving the stop light over west about 1 meter.  As well, the City will be adding a BRT stop light intended just for the BRT to allow it to re-merge back into the regular traffic along 18th street going south.

3 – The City will be shaving off about 2.5 meters of the meridian grass area from the bus stop to the stop light to allow for a bigger BRT stop as well.

4 – The City will be installing a MAJOR BRT stop with a heated seating area.

All work is expected to be completed by early November.
