Each year, there is an annual event known as the CIBC Run for he Cure is held.  It starts and ends at Southcentre.

This year, the event took place on October 1, 2017.

Nearly 85,000 people came together in communities across Canada to make a promise to change the future of breast cancer for our sisters, our mothers, our daughters and our daughters‘ daughters.

Although aimed at people with breast cancer, there were lots of people there as well supporting people who have had any form of cancer whose target is women.  This includes ovarian, etc.

An estimated $17 million to invest in ground-breaking breast cancer research, such as improving screening technology, developing new and targeted treatments, and discovering how to reduce the rate of recurrence.

As such, the Community of Riverbend would like to extend its heart-filled wishes to those women in our community who may be going through this affliction, and to thank those who participated in helping trying to do what we can to make things better for all who may.
