Riverbend Community Association is a non-profit organization. Contributing financially to one of our many projects or ongoing programs and events makes a huge impact. Please see the list of our current projects that would benefit from your contribution:
Handicap button for the main entrance to the Riverbend Community Centre - $5,000
A handicap button would greatly increase ease of access to the building for people with reduced mobility, seniors, also mothers with strollers or multiple children, as well as anyone carrying multiple packages (e.g. to set up an event at the Hall). The estimated cost of adding the button to the double doors at the front main entrance is currently out of scope of the available budget of the Riverbend Community Association. Contributions from the community members would help make this happen sooner!
Parking lot resurfacing - $10,000
Parking lot has been built over 30 years ago. Several areas have sunken or bulged and drainage is a concern. Poor drainage causes accumulation of excess water on the surface which further contributes to the deterioration. This problem is especially concerning during winter when excessive amounts of snow and ice accumulate and pose a safety concern to everyone visiting Riverbend Community Centre. RCA has applied for several grants in order to be able to hire a contractor to address this problem and resurface the most damaged spots. However, grant funding will not cover the full cost.
Skating rinks upgrades -$10,000
Both skating rinks are in need of upgrades. In addition, lights, nets and snow removal equipment are also needed.
