Lifewater Canada walkathon at Carburn Park - Saturday, May 9, 2026
We are pleased to share the following information with our members.
It’s still easy in Calgary to take safe, clean water for granted. But for more than one billion children and adults on our planet, dirty water is all there is to drink.
Join the Lifewater Canada walkathon at Carburn Park on Saturday, May 9 to raise money to drill water wells in Africa and Haiti.
Lifewater has been ranked as one of Canada’s 10 best charities for SEVEN consecutive years. It has drilled more than 3,300 wells that are benefiting more than 10 million people. But the need remains urgent, so please start walking – and fundraising!
What: Walkathon at Carburn Park – a 3-km route and 5-km route. Take your pick! Both will start just west of the public washrooms.
When: Saturday, May 9 starting at 9:00 a.m. and continuing until 1:00 p.m.
Door Prizes: There will be a pre-walk draw for some door prizes for children and teens (age 19 and under).
To Participate: Go to the Lifewater Canada website’s walkathon page and click on the black “Start Fundraising” button.
To Donate: If you can’t walk but still want to provide safe water, click on the orange “Donate Now” button.
“Safe water saves lives,” says Jeff Adams, a Riverbend resident since 2010 and a Lifewater Canada employee. “Trying to live without it is a constant fight for survival.”
